Short answer: you can shop in Dahlonega on a Sunday or a Monday, but plan around the shops that publish their hours. Of the 44 shops we could confirm open as of Oct 19, 2026, 19 post exact daily hours on their own websites. 18 of those 19 list Sunday hours and 17 list Monday hours. The other 25 either have no hours on a site of their own or are known only from a directory, so call them before you drive up.

Everything below is as listed on each shop’s own site, checked Oct 19, 2026. We do not guess hours, and hours change, so treat this as a starting point and check the shop hours table, which lets you pick a day and filter by kind of shop.

What a Sunday looks like

Sunday is a late-start day. Of the 18 shops that publish Sunday hours, 10 open at noon or later. If you arrive at 10 a.m. on a Sunday, the downtown shops on that list that are already open are the Dahlonega General Store and the UNG Bookstore, and the Gold Museum opens at 10 a.m. too, per Georgia State Parks. The Spice & Tea Exchange, Tea Rabbit’s, Cranberry Corners and the Naturally Georgia tasting room follow at 11 a.m.

Sunday also has early closings. The UNG Bookstore closes at 2 p.m., and Tea Rabbit’s, Dress Up and Cranberry Corners list 5 p.m. The two chocolate shops on the Square, Paul Thomas Chocolates and Kilwins, both list 8 p.m. on Sunday, the latest on the table.

What a Monday looks like

For the shops that publish hours, Monday is a normal day: 17 of the 19 list Monday hours. The exceptions are the Grapes & Ghosts Wine Room, which says it is closed Monday to Wednesday, and Old Storehouse Art, whose own site lists Wednesday through Sunday only. Naturally Georgia is open Monday but closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so a Monday tasting works there and a Tuesday one does not.

Cranberry Corners says it is open seven days, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but closed Mondays and Tuesdays in January and February. Bear Book Market lists Monday and Tuesday but not Wednesday.

One note on Bear Book Market’s address: its own site gives 85 East Main Street, while the Visitors Bureau directory lists 21 North Grove Street. We use the shop’s own address; confirm before you go.

The call-ahead list

These shops are open as far as we could confirm, but none publishes daily hours on a site of its own. Some are known only from the Dahlonega DDA directory. Where the directory lists Sunday or Monday hours we say so, but those are directory hours, not confirmed by the shop.

  • Antique malls: Gateway Antique Mall, Antiques & Collectibles and Gold City Antique Gallery on East Main, and No. 3 Vintage on the Square. The DDA lists Sunday and Monday hours for all four. They are directory-only, so call.
  • Vintage Music: its two websites and the DDA list different hours. All agree on Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call on Sunday and Monday.
  • The Dahlonega Fudge Factory: its site says it is open seven days a week with hours that vary by season, and gives only its winter hours.
  • The Glassblowing Shop, Studio Jewelers, Alpine Olive Tree, Outlaw House of Jerky, Crown & Bear and Vickie Lynn’s Gifts: the DDA lists Sunday and Monday hours for each; none publishes daily hours on its own site.
  • High Cotton, Country Cottage, Dahlonega Rocks, Bleu Art Gallery and Smoking Fly Cigars: the DDA lists Sunday and Monday hours for each; none has a working site of its own with hours.
  • TMV Dahlonega: the Tiger Mountain tasting room inside Bleu Gallery lists Wednesday to Sunday on its own page, with no Monday.
  • Black Bear Mercantile and The Gold Shop: the DDA lists both as closed Sunday.
  • Woodlands Edge: the DDA lists Monday and Sunday hours and Tuesday closed; its own website no longer loads.
  • Reclaimed Rose, Brad Walker Pottery and Games Replayed: no hours published online.
  • Nimblewheels Bicycles: by appointment only, with occasional open-house days, per its own site.

Weekend parking and other practical bits

A weekend trip has one parking advantage. The 3-hour Shop & Dine spaces around the Square are enforced 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, per the Visitors Bureau parking guide. The UNG deck next to the Smith House is free to the public from Friday at 5:30 p.m. to Monday at 7:30 a.m., per the Dahlonega DDA. Our parking guide has the lots and the map.

If you buy something too big to carry, the UPS Store in Dahlonega Village on Maxwell Lane lists Saturday and Sunday hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., per The UPS Store. The Visitors Center at 13 South Park Street is open every day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., per the Visitors Bureau.

To turn this into a route for the day you are coming, use the Shopping Day Planner: pick the day and it shows which shops publish hours for it.
