What the table shows

We list 44 shops we could confirm open as of Oct 19, 2026. Of those, 19 publish exact daily hours on their own site or page, and those 19 are the rows in the table, copied as each shop lists them. The other 25 either publish no hours online or are known only from the DDA or Visitors Bureau directory. They sit below the table so you know to call ahead. A directory’s hours never become confirmed hours here.

Sunday: most are open, later in the day

Of the 19 shops that publish exact hours, checked Oct 19, 2026, 18 list Sunday hours. The one that does not is Bowman Outdoors on North Grove Street, which lists Monday to Saturday.

Sunday starts late. Ten of the 18 open at noon or later, with the Kaya tasting room at The Dahlonega Square Hotel last at 1 p.m. Four open at 11 a.m.: The Spice & Tea Exchange, Tea Rabbit’s, Cranberry Corners and Naturally Georgia. Three open at 10 a.m.: the Dahlonega General Store, the UNG Bookstore and Crisson Gold Mine, which is outside downtown. Mountain Crossings at Neel Gap opens at 9 a.m. but is a drive into the mountains.

Sunday closings run from 2 p.m. at the UNG Bookstore to 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Chocolates and Kilwins. Most of the rest close at 5 or 6 p.m.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Early in the week is thinner, but not empty. Of the 19 shops that publish exact hours:

• Monday: 17 are open. Grapes & Ghosts Wine Room and Old Storehouse Art are closed.
• Tuesday: 16 are open. Naturally Georgia closes too.
• Wednesday: 16 are open. Naturally Georgia and Grapes & Ghosts are closed, Bear Book Market lists no Wednesday hours, and Old Storehouse Art reopens.
• Thursday to Saturday: all 19 are open.

Fourteen of the 19 publish hours for all seven days, including Paul Thomas Chocolates, Kilwins, the General Store, The Humble Candle, Local Pup, Giggle Monkey Toys, Dress Up and Cranberry Corners. Two seasonal notes from the shops themselves: Cranberry Corners closes Mondays and Tuesdays in January and February, and the Grapes and Ghosts office and tasting room close for the first two weeks of January.

Who stays open late

Monday to Thursday, only Paul Thomas Chocolates and Kilwins publish hours past 6 p.m.; both stay open until 8 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, Paul Thomas, Kilwins and the General Store stay open until 9 p.m., Grapes & Ghosts and Old Storehouse Art until 8 p.m., and The Spice & Tea Exchange, Dress Up, Naturally Georgia and the Kaya tasting room until 7 p.m.

Holiday hours

For December, the Visitors Bureau says downtown has extended merchant hours every evening. It does not list which shops, and no shop in our list publishes its December hours yet, so the table shows regular hours only.

Holidays close some doors. Crisson Gold Mine is open all major holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Gold Museum closes on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The Visitors Bureau also notes that several Dahlonega businesses close on New Year’s Day; that note was written for the 2024-25 season.

Shops to call first

• Vintage Music publishes different hours on its two websites and in the DDA directory. All three agree on Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call (706) 864-2682 before a Sunday or Monday visit.
• The Dahlonega Fudge Factory publishes only its winter hours, daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and says hours vary by season (Fudge Factory).
• Nimblewheels Bicycles is open by appointment only, with some open-house days each month (Nimblewheels Bicycles).
• The antique malls on East Main and the other shops known only from the DDA directory: the directory lists hours, but the shops do not publish them, so call ahead.
