How it matches

Every match comes from the words on a shop’s own site or page, checked Oct 19, 2026. If a candle shop’s page says candles and home fragrance, it shows up for a host and for someone who loves decorating. If a shop is known only from the DDA directory, the match uses the directory’s words and the card says to call ahead. We never list prices, and we never guess what a shop might carry.

Gift ideas, person by person

A foodie

The Dahlonega Fudge Factory makes its own Dahlonega Nuggets: pecans in homemade caramel, dipped in chocolate (Fudge Factory). The Spice & Tea Exchange hand-mixes more than 85 seasonings in the store daily (Spice & Tea Exchange). Alpine Olive Tree sells olive oils and balsamic vinegars, Outlaw House of Jerky carries over 50 kinds of jerky, Tea Rabbit’s offers over 100 hot teas, and Crown & Bear sells British foods and gifts. Paul Thomas Chocolates says about 90% of what it sells is made by the shop on location (Paul Thomas Chocolates).

A wine lover

Naturally Georgia, on the north side of the Square, offers tastings, glasses and bottles of more than 40 local wines (Naturally Georgia). The Kaya tasting room in The Dahlonega Square Hotel’s lobby sells Kaya wine by the tasting, glass or bottle, and Grapes & Ghosts’ wine menu lists bottles. Tiger Mountain’s room inside Bleu Gallery pours flights; the page we could read does not clearly say it sells bottles to take home.

A child or a teenager

Giggle Monkey Toys sells toys, games, puzzles and books for kids. The General Store has marbles by the pound, wooden yo-yos and old-fashioned candy. Cranberry Corners carries Ty plush toys and collegiate puzzles, and The Glassblowing Shop makes personalized names in glass. For teenagers, Dress Up sells a store-exclusive line of Dahlonega tees and pullovers, and the UNG Bookstore sells university merchandise.

Someone who loves decorating

The Humble Candle carries candles from several makers, wax melts and home fragrance. Reclaimed Rose calls itself a “vintique boutique” of antique furniture, vintage decor and original art. The Glassblowing Shop’s page lists icicles, suncatchers and windchimes, and the General Store sells nostalgic metal signs and baskets.

An art lover or a jewelry lover

Old Storehouse Art shows and sells work by local artists. Studio Jewelers sells estate jewelry selected and restored for resale (Studio Jewelers). Crisson Gold Mine, a drive out of town, sells custom Dahlonega gold jewelry alongside its rock and mineral shop.

A collector, a reader or a musician

Vintage Music has specialized in folk instruments and vintage guitars on the Square for over 30 years (Vintage Music). Bear Book Market sells new and used books. On East Main, the DDA directory says Antiques & Collectibles has over 100 booths of vintage; like the other antique malls there it is directory-only, so call ahead.

Someone outdoorsy, or a pet lover

Mountain Crossings at Neel Gap sells backpacking gear, trail books and maps, and Appalachian Trail patches. Local Pup on the Square sells dog treats, toys, walking gear and pet apparel, and Outlaw House of Jerky makes dog jerky.

A host, or a souvenir for yourself

Cranberry Corners makes custom gift baskets to order by phone (Cranberry Corners). Vickie Lynn’s Gifts personalizes items with any name and color, and ships (Vickie Lynn’s Gifts).

When you cannot decide: Dahlonega Dollars

The downtown Main Street gift card works at participating downtown businesses and is sold online through Yiftee, linked from the DDA’s site.
